Gráinne’s classes involve working with Pilates breath-work focusing on core stability and connection, working through a repertoire of Pilates movements taking the body safely through all its planes of movement working in a flowing manner with precision, concentration and control.
Classes are suitable for all levels of ability and experience as Gráinne takes you through a Pilates programme offering various levels to each exercise enabling everyone to work safely and effectively.
Originally known as Contrology the Pilates exercise regime originates from the First World War and later work of the late Joseph H Pilates and Pilates has been honed and developed to incorporate modern scientific knowledge about the body. Stretches and short periods of relaxation are included in Gráinne’s sessions to give the body an all-round workout and promote a sense of well-being.

Philisophy of Pilates

Pilates moves the body with precision through all its planes of movement combining moving with the breath, concentration, control, precision and flow. Gráinne takes a mind-body approach to Pilates believing the practice of Pilates to reduce stress, improve mental focus and sense of wellbeing in addition to its physical benefits.
