Pilates at the Playhouse 55+
I am delighted to announce I have been invited to facilitate a 10 week sequence of 90 minute Pilates classes at Nottingham Playhouse commencing on Wednesday 21 September 2016 at 1.30pm. These sessions are part of the Playhouse’s 55+ range of short courses enabling greater involvement in the theatre. This is a great chance to exercise, meet like-minded people and explore the Pilates repertoire as a way to keep moving, happy and active through the ageing process. There is the opportunity to socialise before and after the sessions with a hot drink or maybe enroll for the morning writers group session as well.
The exercises can be modified so they are suitable for all ranges of ability and previous experience and are a great addition to other activities such as walking or gardening as the exercises bring us back to a state of natural alignment.
Please see the playhouse website for booking details http://www.nottinghamplayhouse.co.uk/participation/older-people/55/ – there is one bursary assisted place for this course – please e-mail me to find out how to apply.
Focusing on breathing at the start of a Pilates practice helps us relax, focus and gain greater benefits from the exercises.
